What we do
We liaise as necessary with Parks and Greenspace staff and other relevant departments within the City of Edinburgh Council regarding issues such as maintenance, build ups of litter, removal of graffiti and provision and design of play equipment, also with the police as necessary regarding instances of anti-social behaviour.
We are members of a working party comprised of City Councillors, police, a firm of local architects and relevant Council staff (including a youth worker). The aim is to regenerate the eastern section of the park, around the site of disused railway tunnel, as a dedicated space for young people.
We are represented on the Clean, Green and Safe Group of the Inverleith Neighbourhood Partnership
We access funding from a variety of sources for development of youth facilities in the park, for seating and for environmental improvements (plants, bulbs, bird boxes).
We carry out planting sessions – shrubs and bulbs.
We organise clean ups.
We undertake weeding sessions.
We remove graffiti from painted surfaces.
We distribute two newsletters a year.
